Valentine's Day Flipbook
You can watch the process video for this project right here!!

one day i'll get good at hand lettering, today is not that day though |
Who is going to be single this Valentine's Day? Who is excited to buy (undisclosed amounts of) chocolate and eat it all? But more importantly who is excited to celebrate your best gal pals on GALentine's Day?
This happy mail is for one of my best pen pals and I hope she feels the love when she opens her mail box. Showing your girlfriends love is just as important as showing you partner love.

This project was inspired by Chloe Noelle. (P.S. I'm kinda friends with a movie star ) We wanted to do a collaboration but the distance between us made us get creative. We decided on a DOLLAR STORE CRAFT CHALLENGE! No rules other than using only products from the dollar store.
I did use scrapbooking paper from my stache but everything else was either from the dollar tree or the 99cent only store. Even though I've been drooling over all the new stuff from CHA 2016, I love how the dollar store products look together.
Cupcake liner embellishments are my newest obsession. (make sure to subscribe to my youtube for the process video on these little darlings)
What do you think about flipbooks? Do you want to see more of them? Leave me a comment telling me what you'd like to see next.
#iamprojectlife - colorful play
How cute are these playful little baby pictures? :) I'm not usually comfortable using reds and oranges but I pulled the colors from the photos, and I think it turned out cute. The photos were from an old album I found at my moms house. I would have loved to get her journling; it would have been so much more special but I'm still glad that these adorable memories are preserved and decorated.
Project life is a simplified way to scrapbook. Your photos slide right into little pockets and then you can decorate or journal on cards that also slide right into the perfectly sized pockets. It takes away the stress that can sometimes accompany traditional scrapbooking.
Most of the supplies used in this video are from Studio Calico. Their monthly project life kit makes my life so much easier. I love having beautiful products sent right to my front door. It's a no-brainer for me because its so easy and lets me use new products every month. There are a lot of subscription boxes to choose from so explore and find one that compliments your style.
The chipboard stickers are from Becky Higgins, they're on clearance and soooooooo cute.

#iamprojectlife - happy go lucky
I found these old goofy pictures of myself in a photo album at my moms house, I wanted to preserve these memories and the easiest way I've found to scrapbook is using project life.

I'm still not very good at photographing my finished layouts without extreme glare. How do you take pictures of your layouts? I usually do these after work (around midnight) with my studio lights.

Avocado & Lime Chicken Salad (& Bento)
I have found the most delicious and nutritious recipe on Pinterest the other day. Kalyn's Kitchen adapted this Chicken Salad into a recipe that has been pinned over 420k times! I adapted the recipe to my tastes and it is dangerously yummy :)
This chicken salad would be delicious in a pita! Maybe my next cooking adventure will be homemade pitas....
This is how I would pack this recipe in my Lock & Lock Bento box. I've paired it with some yummy cherry tomatoes and an extra lime wedge because I LOVE lime! On the bottom section I have a hard boiled egg, brocolli, and more cherry tomatoes. To add some fruit, I added some blueberries and pumpkin seeds. I love the sweetness of the berry and the saltiness of the seed. Also, there is a surprise square of chocolate under the bottom divider. I love the Ghiradeli squares because they are under 100cal and DELICIOUS.
Isn't it beautiful?! I love having a bright and beautiful lunch. A colorful lunch is so much more fun (and healthy) to eat. I still have a big bowl of this chicken salad in my fridge for the rest of the week. Meal prep success!! This recipe takes like 15min, and your set for the week! Awesome!
Ok, so now for the nutritional information!

Mixed Media Monday - Darwin
Another Mixed Media video for y'all :) This video has been on my computer forever just waiting to be narrated.
For this page I was inspired by Darwin's Journal. His discovery and his work on evolution changed our understanding of nature forever. Plus he had a pretty sweet gig. Traveling to tropical remote places and documenting nature. Lucky.
You can check out my process video below and see how I accidentally created a masterpiece (in my own eyes).
Now here are some close ups so you can see all the awesome details and texture on this page.
The title surrounded by some natural twine. I love how the letters are peeling up and how much texture the twine adds.
AHHHH!! that gorgeous shine. I don't know where that shine is from but isn't it gorgeous! This page turned out a bit more grungy than I expected but Oh well, Darwin probably dropped his journal in a puddle of mud once or twice.
Supplies:
Gesso - Walmart
Bella Acrylic Paint - Home Depot
Websters Dictionary - Thrift Store
Round Frame - RAK from Kathy
Bird Die Cuts - RAK from Angela
Tulip image - Google
Finch Image - Google
Color Shine (chartreuse, tinsel) - Michaels
Chalk Pastels - Thrift Store (Dupe)
Mini Market Alpha - Amazon
Chalkboard Mini Alpha - Target
Twine - Dollar Tree
